First Starters’ stated goal is to help entrepreneurs get their first start. It is our belief that there are many disadvantaged and often impoverished people who have the skills and motivation to start their own businesses but lack the resources to start them. Rather than loans or micro-finance, First Starters ‘pay it forward’ and rely on former participants to fund and mentor future recipients.

First Starters, Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity so all donations are tax deductible. Your contribution can help an individual start a business that will help their local community and then create an independent form of income that can support themselves and their families.

Starting and Upfront Costs

The biggest obstacle first-time entrepreneurs face is the cost of starting their venture. They have the drive and knowledge but they simply don’t have the capital to buy what they need to start before a cash flow can be established. That’s where First Starters, Inc. comes in.

Your donations go towards giving qualified entrepreneurs their first start. Their idea is solid; their drive is relentless. It’s all laid out in their business plan and it’s backed up with their record. And it’s all put together with who they are. They are the best first starters and with First Starters, Inc and your contribution, the best finishers too.
Entrepreneurs, Small and Local Business

Entrepreneurs are creators. They create small businesses which provide new ideas, and new ways of doing things and new products for others to use. They move quickly and fill in the gaps in the economy. Large corporations have their place but they don’t often come up with the next big things and move slowly. It’s in everyone’s interest to help small business and the entrepreneurs who start them.

Entrepreneurs not only nurture small business but also local business. When we buy products and services from local businesses, the money stays locally and helps others in the area. Other local businesses receive and recycle money, local employees receive an income and spend locally and the local area is nurtured. It all starts at the ground level, with entrepreneurs. That’s why First Starters, Inc and your contributions are so valuable. You help strengthen them and they help strengthen you.

Not a Bank, No Requirement to Pay Back, But…

First Starters, Inc. helps new entrepreneurs get the capital to start their ventures. Entrepreneurs usually get their initial capital a few different ways. They either self-fund with savings or loans, some go as far as using cash advances from their credit cards (bad idea). Others get loans or gifts from family and friends. Others take on silent partners. And lastly, many write up business plans and take them to a bank. If the bank believes you can pay them back, they give the entrepreneur the loan, something they require you to pay back.

We believe in giving entrepreneurs the first start their need to get their venture going. We also believe that who we give capital too needs to steward the money as if it was their own funds and need to be paid back. But, First Starters, Inc doesn’t require recipients pay back the capital they have received. Instead, they are encouraged to give back and donate what they can or want back into the charity so others can benefit from the program. We believe entrepreneurs have a spirit of giving and giving back. They give local communities and the world their ideas and hard work, they are rewarded in many ways and give back to those who got them there. It’s a cycle that needs a start and we at First Starters, Inc are happy to be the start for many.
